Happy Birthday Zephen and McCaul

Yes this week Zephen and McCaul turned the BIG 3… yep, they are no longer babies…they have moved on to childhood. Anyways I think they had a really great birthday party and were very pleased with everything.

Per their wishes they got a dinosaur cake… we wanted them each to have their own cake so we make 2 put together with a dinosaur scene…but they each had their own side and they were thoroughly happy with it. McCaul got a little anxious and blew out the candles before we were done singing happy birthday so grandpa relit them and he got to blow his candles out twice.

The got some cars that they have been driving all over the house. Some blankets from Grandma and Grandpa Warren which they have insisted stay upstairs to snuggle with and not in their beds. And this behemoth of a toy… a jumpolene…which takes up a large amount of space… but they have loved it. And a game from Aunt Shauna... They also got some money which they tell me will buy candy at the store :-)

They got some dinosaurs from David and Nathan and Keziah and a draw on play house and dot markers from mom and dad.Keziah loves the playhouse but we cannot seem to get her to use the door, for some reason she insists on climbing in through the windows.

She also thought the cake was tasty

In other family news…

Sheldon has been practicing his skills on the piano.

David and Nathan finished up their soccer season. (Don’t look at the picture of David falling too closely or you will notice the illegal pushing on the parts of the other play and Nathan lol)

We all went out pine nut picking… Well mostly Sheldon and I picked them up, the kids ran around trying to figure out how many more pine nuts this tree or that tree had. The fall colors were pretty though.

Keziah was also working on her piano skills a little this week too.

Another update from the Nicholes

I know I am just not updating this as much. I will probably be getting a bit better for a couple months and then I imagine it will get a bit worse after the baby comes.

I am on the better side. The morning sickness is starting to wane a bit and though I am still sick often I feel much better.

Things have been a bit slow here though we have accomplished a few things. We have been mostly passing various illnesses around the family from stomach bugs to strep throat and who knows what else. Today the sick people include Keziah, Sheldon, and myself. Not sure what Keziah has but we hope it will pass quickly, I am mostly over strep throat and who knows what Sheldon has but I think he is beginning to recover as well. We ordered some vitamin D3 for the kids hoping it will help us.

Some events that have happened in the last month. First one morning we had this incredible rain storm. I mean it dumped and hailed and dumped for a long time. And before we knew it the water was rushing down the street and pouring into the yard. I would have taken pictures of that but we were too busy trying to divert the water away from the house. The entire yard was a pool of 4-6 inches and no matter how hard you try you just cannot hold that back. Luckily the leakage was minimal we are hoping partly because of us sealing the walls. The boys room got torn apart for a few days to dry out the carpet and padding. And eventually the padding was called a loss but the carpet is totally okay. A few days later I saw some men working and building birms and filling in pot holes with asphalt. I dragged a few of them over to our house and explained what happened. And much to our pleasure they built a birm all along the side of the house that would divert the water to the street so it will go to the gutters and drains. Yay for that victory. Hopefully it wont happen again.

We also re-shingled one side of our roof which took alot of work in the hot sun and some fabulous help from a few friends and Stanley (Sheldon's father) and Grandpa Warren.We didnt get many pictures but here is a picture of a dirty daddy at the end of the first day.

David and Nathan also started soccer. They are really good. I am so impressed with their ability to run for pretty much 40 minutes straight. Nathan is an excellent goalie… fearless and determined. He doesn’t run quite as fast as the other kids (he needs to grow a couple inches) but I would venture to say he is definitely the best goalie on the team. David is a good player too and has made a couple goals. He runs fast and is usually on top of it. They are definitely gaining some skills and this age group is all about learning positions and rules of the game. They play hard and their coach is tough but they love it, have improved greatly, and are strong players.

Keziah is a climber and a runner and a goer… we havent been very good with the camera lately but here are a couple pics. She is in the middle of everything the boys are into.

In her new winter coat and boots, she can barely walk in the coat poor kids not used to so much on…

This last weekend we got to go to the temple in St George. My dad and his wife Jan were sealed in the temple and my brother and myself were sealed to them. It was a great event for them and for me. Congratulations to them. Here are a few pictures we took outside the temple before we went in.
