Science Fair and Jump roping

Well it’s been a busy week. Last week was science fair projects…that means we spent many hours working on putting them together.

Here is David’s. His project was about how many balloons it took to pick up a toy car. He hypothesized it would only take 2… Surprisingly it took 6. He got an award and a first place ribbon which he was very excited about Here are some cute pictures.

Nathan’s project was about glow sticks. He wanted to know whether glow necklaces or glow bracelets glowed longer. WE had one defective necklace though… But the other necklace glowed longest. He also received an award and first place ribbon.

Nathan getting his ribbon and award.. He was the first one to be called up (they started with Kindergarten) Well he ran all the way up there grabbed it and ran back. It seems he set a trend then cause every other kid did the same thing. Hehehe

Zephen and McCaul have been doing great…We are working on saying goodbye to the pacifier. It’s a multi-step process the way we do it.. but after the first step McCaul took the easy way out and said they were broken and threw them away. He hasn’t used his pacy in a week almost. Basically what we do is gather up all pacifiers in the house (take a look at this) And then we saved two for each of them but cut a tiny bit off the end. They dislike it but its usually just good enough. You cut a bit more off every few days and eventually they have nothing left of it. Zephen is still working through this. McCaul obviously is fine saying bye-bye… I didn’t think it would be so easy.

All the pacys (woah that’s a lot).Keziah was still cute as ever this week. Getting better at sitting up and even trying to push a bit and work at some crawling moves.. No she is not crawling but she does get up on her arms and she does push with her feet.

Some other pictured from this week

Have you seen these brains.. when you turn on the TV they seem to disappear

Zephen has an infatuation with drawing on himself every time he gets near a marker

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Happy Valentines Day

Keziah is getting more and more active every day. Last week Sheldon put her to nap. He went back to get her when she woke up and she had wiggled so much she moved about 3 feet down and to the side and turned 180 (head where her feet had been). So, we decided it wasn’t safe to keep her in our bed any more. We set up the playpen for her (No crib for her the twins are still in theirs and I cannot bring myself to buy a third crib or to free the twins from the containment of the crib). The playpen is working fine.

Keziah has made a lot of changes this week, mommy decided that enough is enough. I took the pacifier away…she was waking up multiple times a night and nap wanting it replaced. So I said no more… She has handled that really well. She also started rolling over a lot when sleeping even when in the swaddle so it wasn’t really safe to use any more if she was in her belly in it. So we took the swaddle away. Now she instantly rolls over and sleeps on her belly and seems to sleep fairly well. Then I got to thinking how blasted tired I am. You see David and Nathan and the twins were ALL sleeping through the night by four months, but not little miss Keziah… no she still wakes up at least twice a night to eat. So the last couple nights I have put her on a schedule... I went back to the schedule that worked really well for the twins. She basically is eating less often but for longer periods of time.. then I have two scheduled naps a day and I put her to bed early. Then I wake her at 930ish right before I go to bed and feed her one last time. Then she is supposed to sleep til around 5 or 6.. The last two days she has really seemed to work into the schedule well wanting naps and meals at the appropriate times… But she still wants to wake for a feeding around 2am. but I have spent a grueling hour and a half sleepily urging her to go back to sleep without another meal. Both nights she has gone to sleep after about an hour and slept til 7… so she can do it.. just gotta get past the mini hurdle.

Keziah also started solids this week… She was not too pleased with baby cereal and not really with apple sauce… but was much much more accepting of bananas. It was kinda funny with the cereal she would grimace and then do a little whole body shiver and then blow raspberries.. The bananas she just shoveled in though.

The twins got into a bit of trouble this week. Seems they think since Keziah rolls all over the front room she must be big enough to wrestle. I have had to tell them not to sit on her and not to pick her up a number of times.. but here is a picture of her pinning Zephen down. Hehe….

We also had some friends over. Keziah and her friend are about 9 weeks age difference and Keziah was VERY interested in this little person her size. It was very cute.

Last night we went our friend’s house and had heart shaped pizzas and strawberry milkshakes and played games… It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. Here are some pictures of the fun.
Other pictures from this week! Enjoy

Let see... What are we all up to???

David and Nathan
These guys have taken to decorating the house in "Valentines". Translation... 10,000 little colored cut out hearts strategically placed around the house.
David is also working on his science fair project.. which has to do with balloons and what they can pick up.. I promise to post pictures of the final result. David also finished his first chapter book this week and is reading a bit better every day.
We got a good snowfall last night. David and Nathan were itching all day to go sledding... We freed them and they seemed to enjoy themselves... Sheldon says one of our new sleds from the store were really fast and made Nathan a bit nervous...

The twins are being their usually busy little selves... Though Zephen has been very slightly feverish and cranky all week. I finally realized it was probably related to his final molar trying to push the last of the way through... Then I eased up on harassing him about chewing on his fingers.

Keziah is getting stronger every day lifting higher and higher with her arms.. I was doubtful just a month ago that she would crawl too soon.. Now I am not sure.. seems like she might be ready to take off sooner than I anticipated.. She is pushing all the way up on her arms and will even push back with her feet. Not exactly crawling at all.. but I can see where these movements are leading. I tried to take a couple pictures of her movement in terms of rolling.. seems every time I put her down on the front room floor and turn around.. two seconds later she has managed to roll on over to the other side of the room. Of course when I tried to photograph this she just smiled at me and happily stared at the ceiling content to stay in one place.

I got lots of treats this week. I went out to diner with a friend for her birthday on Tuesday.. stayed up way too late playing games with the ladies on Wednesday and was treated to a date on Friday courtesy of Stan and Alice who bought us tickets to a play at the high school and watched the kids for us. I of course took Keziah afraid to leave her starving at home she she adamantly refuses to take a bottle. When we were seated we were told that because it was small and where our seating was that we were asked to leave if she even thought about fussing. They were surprised when we got to the end and she hadn't even made a peep. She got lots of complements for being completely adorable and very good. She was even invited to return ;-)

I also got really mad at Sheldon on Thursday... yeah I am over it but it did have some benefits in that my house got pretty dang clean. Sheldon says he should make me mad more often... I don't think I agree.. but I see the benefit of it. Of course its slowly deteriorating already with all the kids. *sigh* At least I get to see it all pretty and clean on occasion.

Just for laughs.. Zephen made a great impression of my mood
