We are back from our trip to Seattle with lots of pictures and fun times to share. Obviously I cannot show you everything but here are just a few of our fun adventures. This will probably be more than one post so its not too terribly long. So here goes.
We took 3 days to get to Seattle. We decided that to keep the peace with all these little ones it was in our best interest. So we drove to Wells, NV and stopped.
Then we went to a little place outside twin falls where there were alligators and stopped and picnicked. After we were done with that we headed to Boise where we spent the night with Lucas and Marianne. They were gracious hosts and fed us a yummy dinner and let us crash all over. Including Lily who gave up her bedroom to Keziah. The next day we headed off to Richland, WA. We stopped at a couple rest stops, including one outside Baker, OR which left Christina with over 12 mosquito bites on her ankles after only 2 minutes out of the car. We got out of there asap. When we got to the Oregon, Washington border we stopped and visited the McNary Dam. I think the kids enjoyed it a lot. We toured the Salmon Museum and learned some stuff and watched some fish swimming up the ladders. Then we went inside the dam and looked out over the inside workings.
We stayed the night in Richland, Washington, with James and LeAnne, Sheldon's Aunt and Uncle. They were very kind and fed us and gave us great accommodations. First thing in the morning we headed out for the last 3 hour stretch of our drive to our destination, Maple Valley, Washington. It was a beautiful drive and we got there in good time. We kinda hung out for the rest of the day and the next morning we went took off for one really big day. We started with a ride on the Ferry!! The kids really liked this.
Then we went to the Aquarium in Seattle...
Then we ended with a walk through Pikes market. Apparently we missed the memo that Friday afternoon is an insane time to go. It was PACKED. But we walked down and watched them throw the fish. Nathan wanted us to buy the big octopus to see if they would throw that. It didn't happen though. But we watched them throw around a few other fish. Then on the way out Sheldon bought Christina these flowers for only $5. They were so bright and vibrant and pretty and inexpensive.
